When It's Love, It's Love.

Alexander Ebert, the lead singer for Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, just released his first solo album, Alexander.

Oh. My. God. Listen to "Glimpses". Now I just wonder if he will marry me.

Sky Full of Holes

Let's throw back to one of the only great things about the 1990's . . . Fountains Of Wayne! Their new album, Sky Full Of Holes, will be released in the US on August 2 via Yep Roc Records, their first release on the NC-based indie label. This is their first new release since 2007's Traffic And Weather.

I love straightforward pop so I'm really excited about this album. Baby, please leave the biker, leave the biker, break his heart ;)

500 Songs for Kids 2011

Yo - ticket information has gone up for the 500 Songs for Kids extravaganza happening April 28-May 7 at Smith's Olde Bar. I know, that's like, an eon away from today, but the thing is, you wanna get tickets. Why? Because you don't want to wait in line. I'm just trying to help you out. If you're unfamiliar with this, it's probably the craziest thing you've ever seen. 500 artists from all over the place sing one song from the list of 500 Feelgood Songs of All Time, and all the proceeds go to help out a handful of children's hospitals. So, this is a good cause. $10 a night gets you entertainment from host Josh Rifkind, and a few hours of songs you wanna sing along with. Tickets here!

Check Out: Ulrika

I've been thinking about zombies a lot this week. So, in honor of my obsession, and of the most awesome day of the week next to Saturday (that's Friday for those of you keeping up), I'm sharing this super cool cover of The Cranberries' "Zombie" done by Ulrika, who is Swedish and has a ridiculously captivating voice. You are very welcome.

Scissor Sisters Hit Atlanta Tomorrow

While I've known about this for a while, I forgot to mention the most awesome, dancingest band ever is going to be at the Tabernacle tomorrow night. You can go on over to Live Nation for tickets if you wanna.

If you're not privvy to the Scissor Sisters, let me educate you for a second. They are only the most colorful set of musicians ever, who are basically like the modern day Village People, except with a chick. Since everyone I know is searching for tunes conducive for making their booties smaller in time for bathing suit season, I highly recommend this band be used for your treadmill enjoyment. They sing that classic "Take Your Mama Out" song, as well as "Don't Feel Like Dancin'" which reeks of win with its spaceship-type noises and catchy chorus.

So, if you want a fun night out, I'd get on these tickets and purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka.
