Shows You Must See.

A preview of things to come. Get your calendar/PDA/celly out for these.

*This Friday, October 5th, one of the blog's fav local bands is tearing up the Masquerade. Estates are back on a roll since rescuing their singer from immigration hell, and you need to recognize if you have yet to do so. Unless you're going to see Randy Travis, in which case, I'm wondering why you're even reading this blog . . .

*Sunday Funday can commence on October 7th with Athens' Modern Skirts. It's a free show, as it always is . . . Unplugged in the Park at Park Tavern. But, if you're not 21, don't bother! They frown on the underagers.

*Pistolero is having a CD release party on Thursday, October 11th at my favorite shady strip joint, the Clermont Lounge. As an added bonus, Warm in the Wake is performing, and they're enough reason for you to go support the night. Bring cash for booze . . . they don't accept plastic. Hey, if the strippers are au natural, so is the money, I guess. If you decide to get hammered, no worries. The Clermont usually has vacancies, and the rooms are only $40 a night! What a steal. (Alcohol swabs not included.)

*If you're not hitting the ECHO Project Festival, head to Vinyl Friday, October 12th to see Ponderosa, who happen to include half of Variac's old members.

*Trances Arc has the CD release party set, and it sounds like a doo doo ton o' fun. Seeing that it's the Friday before my most favoritest holiday EVER, October 26th may have me over at the Star Bar. In costume. My name's Leah, so I get first dibs on the sci-fi gold bikini chick, aka Princess Leia. The band is actually requesting that showgoers wear a costume (dress code = Casual/Inter-Galactic/Sci-Fi), so play along! Dressing up is fun! Think of all the creative 'stuff' you can get into later on . . . $10, and that includes the CD.
