As Tall As Lions.

Here's a band that was brought to my attention through a mass email for people like myself. I get so many that it's hard to keep up, but since I have nothing better to do at the moment, I'm going to pass it along in case you haven't had the pleasure yet. The band is As Tall As Lions, and the sound lives up to the name. No, unfortunately, they're not local, and no, unfortunately, Atlanta is not on their tour stop, but hey, at least you can check it out, right? You might like it.

The music is an eerie combination of soothing vocals backed by a powerful flow of melody that whispers to me like a calming drug. It's reminding me of the newer Coldplay material found in the song "Talk" (which everyone should know by now, unless you've been under a rock for the past few months). Fast guitars and heavy drums make for a good showing of talent that I want to blast through my radio. The very cool thing about this band is that you can download a couple of their songs off the MySpace site I've linked above, which I did so I can listen to it whenever I damn well please. And if you like, you can click here and get their single, "Ghost of York," which is the little sample I heard that made me think I'd like everything else from As Tall As Lions, and it was pretty dead on. Now, I need to go update my iPod. Oh, if you want the album, this is what it looks like (it's so pretty!):
